Sports Performance Hypnosis for Athletes Across Multiple Sports
Hypnosis for Gymnastics | Overcome Mental Blocks & Build Confidence
Helping gymnasts overcome mental blocks, perfectionism, fear of skills, competition pressure and confidence issues.
Gymnastics is unlike any other sport.
It demands extraordinary strength wrapped in grace, explosive power expressed with precision, and the courage to commit completely when every skill carries an element of risk. Success isn't determined simply by physical ability. It's determined by what happens in the split second before you move.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with gymnasts at every level of competition. I've worked alongside a NCAA Division I university gymnastics team and one of the most successful gymnastics clubs in the United States—a programme that has produced 14 Olympians and more than 70 National Team members. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation of the mental demands that separate good gymnasts from exceptional ones.
I've learned that the greatest battles often take place in the mind, not on the apparatus.
A gymnast may have performed a skill hundreds of times in training, yet one seed of doubt can suddenly create hesitation. That hesitation can lead to fear, inconsistency, or the dreaded mental block. Sometimes those changes are triggered by injury, but they can also occur during periods of rapid physical growth, when a gymnast suddenly feels as though their body no longer moves the way it once did.
If you're experiencing this, you may find my article on How Hypnosis Can Help Gymnasts Through Growh Spurtshelpful, where I explain why growth can temporarily affect timing, coordination, confidence, and body awareness—and how hypnosis can help athletes adapt more quickly.
My role is to help remove these barriers by working directly with the subconscious mind, where confidence, automatic movement, and emotional responses are stored.
Together, we replace overthinking with trust.
I help gymnasts silence the inner critic that demands perfection and replace it with a mindset focused on commitment, rhythm, and execution. Instead of worrying about falling, making mistakes, or disappointing others, you'll learn to focus entirely on the movement itself, allowing your body to perform the routines it already knows.
Physically, gymnastics requires exceptional strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, spatial awareness, timing, agility, and body control. Mentally, it demands unwavering concentration, resilience, courage, emotional control, patience, and the confidence to commit 100% to every skill.
Whether you're working to overcome a mental block on the beam, regain confidence on the uneven bars, trust your tumbling on floor, improve your kip to handstand, or perform consistently under competition pressure, I help create the subconscious certainty that allows you to move freely and perform instinctively.
When the conscious mind stops interfering, the body is free to do what it has been trained to do.
That is where confidence becomes natural, movements become effortless, and performance reaches its highest level.
Hypnosis for Competitive Swimmers | Confidence & Performance Hypnosis
Swimming is a sport of precision, discipline, and repetition.
Success is built on thousands of hours of training, where fractions of a second can separate first place from the rest of the field. Every start, every turn, every stroke, and every finish demands complete focus. When the pressure of competition builds, it's often the athlete who is mentally prepared who performs closest to their true potential.
My connection with swimming began long before I became a sports performance hypnotist. I swam competitively and played water polo for my university, experiences that taught me the discipline, commitment, and mental resilience required to compete in the water.
I later became the Waterfront Director at one of the largest summer camps in the United States, responsible for a programme involving more than 700 children. During that time, I worked with junior national-level swimmers and organised highly competitive inter-camp swim meets. Those experiences gave me a unique insight into swimmers at every stage of development—from young athletes discovering their potential to highly talented competitors striving for excellence.
One lesson has remained constant throughout my career.
Swimming is as much a mental sport as it is a physical one.
Every swimmer has experienced races where everything seems effortless. Your stroke feels smooth, your breathing is relaxed, your pacing is instinctive, and you trust your preparation. But every swimmer has also experienced races where nerves creep in, tension builds, confidence fades, and the mind begins to interfere with skills that have been practised thousands of times.
That's where I can help.
Through hypnosis and subconscious conditioning, I help swimmers develop the confidence to trust their training, remain calm under pressure, and perform with greater consistency. Instead of becoming distracted by expectations, previous performances, or the fear of making mistakes, you learn to stay completely focused on the race unfolding in front of you.
Swimming places enormous demands on both the body and the mind. Physically, it requires strength, endurance, flexibility, timing, coordination, efficient technique, and exceptional body awareness. Mentally, it requires patience, discipline, concentration, resilience, emotional control, and the ability to perform when every fraction of a second matters.
Whether you're preparing for an important championship, aiming for a personal best, overcoming competition nerves, or rebuilding confidence after a disappointing performance, I help you strengthen the mental side of your preparation.
My role isn't to change your stroke technique or your training programme—that's the job of your swim coach.
My role is to help ensure that, when you step onto the starting block, your mind is working with you instead of against you.
Because the fastest swimmers aren't always those who train the hardest.
They're often the swimmers who have learned to trust themselves when the starter says, "Take your marks."
Hypnosis for Tennis Players | Confidence, Focus & Mental Performance
Tennis is a highly demanding mental sport as well as a test of physical skill and technical ability. Players must remain focused point after point, manage momentum changes and recover quickly from mistakes, often competing alone without teammates to share the pressure.
I work with tennis players to develop the mental skills that support confidence, concentration and consistency, including managing performance anxiety, overcoming fear of making mistakes, maintaining composure after losing points and staying focused during important moments in a match.
Through sports performance hypnosis, I help tennis players strengthen confidence, mental rehearsal and emotional control, allowing them to trust their preparation, play with greater freedom and stay mentally present when the pressure increases.
I cam created a YouTube video called “Hypnosis to Enhance Tennis Performance” as well as a blog post titled Hypnosis to Enhance Tennis Performance and Confidence
Hypnosis for Rugby Players | Confidence, Performance & Mental Resilience
Helping rugby players develop confidence in contact, mental toughness, resilience and the ability to perform under pressure.
When I work with a rugby player, I don't try to turn you into someone else.
My job is to help you become more completely yourself as an athlete.
You already have your skills.
You already have your physical preparation.
You already have your experience.
What I help you develop is the ability to access those qualities consistently, particularly when pressure, fatigue, fear, or self-doubt might otherwise interfere.
Through hypnosis and subconscious conditioning, I help you strengthen confidence, focus, resilience, emotional control, and trust in your own ability.
Whether you're returning from injury, struggling with confidence in contact, preparing for a major competition, dealing with performance anxiety, or simply looking to take your performance to another level, I help you develop the mental skills required to compete with greater freedom and confidence.
My experience founding and coaching championship-winning university teams, combined with my work with high-level athletes and the England 7s Rugby team during their World Cup tour, has given me a deep appreciation of what rugby demands from both the player and the coach.
Rugby will always be a physically demanding game.
But when the body is tired, the pressure is high, and the outcome is uncertain, it is often the strength of your mind that allows you to keep moving forward.
That is where I can help.
I help rugby players develop the confidence to commit, the resilience to recover, the composure to think clearly, and the mental strength to perform when it matters most.
Because when you trust yourself, trust your preparation, and trust the work you've put in, you can step onto the rugby field ready to give everything you have.
Hypnosis for Triathletes | Mental Performance & Ironman Preparation
Triathlon isn't simply a sport I work with—it's a sport I've lived.
I've experienced the exhilaration of crossing finish lines, the uncertainty that creeps into your mind when your body begins to struggle, and the satisfaction that comes from discovering you're capable of far more than you ever imagined.
I competed in the Hawaii Ironman World Championships, where I learned first-hand that success over 140.6 miles is determined as much by your mindset as by your fitness. I also finished second in what was then recognised as the world's longest biathlon—from Death Valley to the summit of Mt. Whitney—a race that tested every physical and psychological limit. Enduring temperatures exceeding 45°C before climbing more than 23,000 feet to the highest point in the continental United States taught me that the body rarely gives up before the mind does.
My passion for triathlon also extended into education. I taught one of the first university courses dedicated to triathlon training, helping athletes understand the science behind performance through underwater swim video analysis, precision bike fitting, cycling biomechanics, and video gait analysis for running efficiency. Understanding how the body moves is essential—but understanding how the mind influences every movement is what truly unlocks performance.
That is where my work begins.
The greatest challenge in triathlon isn't simply swimming faster, riding harder, or running stronger. It's maintaining complete mental control over hours of relentless physical effort. Every race asks difficult questions. Can you stay patient? Can you trust your pacing? Can you keep believing when fatigue begins to cloud your thinking? Can you remain focused when everything in your body wants you to slow down?
Through hypnosis, I help triathletes develop the subconscious mindset that allows them to answer those questions with confidence.
I help you silence negative internal dialogue, remain emotionally composed when races don't unfold as planned, and trust the countless hours of training you've invested. Whether you're standing on the beach before the swim start, settling into the rhythm of the bike, or facing the final miles of the run, your mind becomes your greatest ally rather than your biggest obstacle.
Physically, triathlon demands exceptional endurance, efficiency, strength, coordination, pacing, and recovery. Mentally, it demands discipline, resilience, patience, confidence, adaptability, and the ability to stay completely present for hours at a time.
My role is to ensure that your subconscious mind supports every stroke, every pedal revolution, and every stride. When your mind and body work together, performance feels smoother, decisions become clearer, and suffering no longer feels like something to fear—it becomes something you know how to manage.
Whether you're preparing for your first sprint triathlon, chasing a personal best, qualifying for a World Championship, or standing on the start line of an Ironman, I help you build the mental strength to match your physical preparation.
Because in triathlon, fitness gets you to the start line.
Your mindset determines what you're capable of when the race truly begins.
I have created a guided YouTube video called “Hypnosis and Imagery for the Triathlete”, which explores how the combination of hypnosis and mental imagery can help endurance athletes develop confidence, focus, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure.
Hypnosis for Field Hockey Players | Confidence & Performance Under Pressure
Field hockey is often described as a game of speed, but in reality, it's a game of decisions.
Every few seconds you're reading the play, anticipating movement, controlling the ball at pace, communicating with teammates, and making decisions under intense pressure. The faster the game becomes, the quieter and more focused the mind needs to be.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with athletes competing at every level, including my continued work with an Olympic field hockey player. One thing I've learned is that the difference between good players and exceptional players is rarely physical ability alone. More often, it's the ability to trust themselves when the pressure is greatest.
That's where I come in.
My role isn't to teach stick skills or tactics—your coaches already do that exceptionally well. My role is to help you access those skills automatically, without hesitation, self-doubt, or overthinking.
Together, we'll develop the mindset that allows you to play instinctively. Instead of second-guessing your decisions, you'll learn to trust your first read of the game. Instead of dwelling on a missed pass or missed opportunity, you'll recover immediately and stay completely engaged in the next phase of play.
Physically, field hockey demands exceptional speed, agility, coordination, balance, endurance, quick hands, and lightning-fast reactions. Mentally, it requires concentration, anticipation, emotional control, confidence, resilience, and the ability to process information at remarkable speed while remaining calm under pressure.
Through hypnosis, I help strengthen the subconscious patterns that elite performance depends upon. Confidence becomes your natural state. Focus becomes effortless. Pressure becomes something to embrace rather than fear.
Whether your goal is to earn a place on a representative team, perform consistently at club level, compete internationally, or simply enjoy playing with greater confidence and freedom, I help you unlock the mental side of your game so your physical talent can flourish.
When your subconscious mind is working with you instead of against you, the game begins to slow down. You see more, react faster, trust yourself completely, and perform with the confidence that every athlete is capable of achieving.
Hypnosis for Basketball Players | Confidence, Focus & Mental Performance
I have used hypnosis to help basketball players enhance their performance, leveraging focused attention and heightened suggestibility to improve their mental preparation, confidence, and resilience under pressure. Through my work, I have seen firsthand how hypnosis can positively impact key areas of basketball, including three-point shooting accuracy, flow states, and overall psychological well-being.
Beyond specific skills, I have used hypnosis to deliver broader psychological benefits for basketball players, including stress and anxiety management, enhanced self-confidence, and the promotion of a positive mindset. By addressing these psychological factors, I have helped players perform at their best under pressure and contribute to their overall improved performance on the court.
I help players develop the mental skills required to stay confident, focused and composed.
As the sports industry continues to evolve, I believe the integration of hypnosis into training regimens will become an increasingly prevalent and valuable approach to optimising athletic performance.
Hypnosis for Figure Skaters | Confidence, Focus & Performance Under Pressure
Figure skating demands an exceptional combination of technical precision, athletic ability, artistry and mental control. Skaters are required to perform highly complex movements under pressure, often while being judged on both technical execution and presentation.
I work with figure skaters to develop the mental skills that support confident, consistent performance, including managing competition pressure, overcoming fear of falling, rebuilding confidence after mistakes or injury, and dealing with perfectionism and mental blocks.
Through sports performance hypnosis, I help skaters strengthen focus, confidence and mental rehearsal, allowing them to approach training and competition with greater trust in their preparation and their ability to perform when it matters most.
Hypnosis for Baseball Players | Mental Performance, Confidence & Focus
Baseball is a game of precision, patience, and resilience. Success depends not only on physical skill but on the ability to stay mentally composed over the course of a long season. Every pitch, every swing, and every defensive play presents a new challenge, requiring total concentration and the confidence to trust years of training.
As a sports performance hypnotist, I help baseball players develop the mental skills that allow their physical abilities to shine. Whether you're a pitcher, hitter, catcher, or fielder, I work with you to quiet self-doubt, eliminate overthinking, and strengthen the subconscious habits that lead to consistent performance.
Together, we build unwavering confidence, sharpen focus, and develop the ability to remain calm under pressure. I help you recover quickly from mistakes, let go of poor at-bats or defensive errors, and approach each new play with a clear, focused mind. Instead of worrying about outcomes or statistics, you'll learn to stay fully present in the moment, trusting your instincts and allowing your body to perform naturally.
Physically, baseball demands explosive power, quick reactions, excellent hand-eye coordination, balance, agility, and endurance throughout a demanding season. Mentally, it requires emotional control, patience, concentration, resilience, and the ability to perform in high-pressure situations where a single pitch or swing can change the outcome of a game.
My role is to strengthen the connection between your mind and body so that your skills become automatic. Through hypnosis and subconscious conditioning, I help you replace fear with confidence, tension with relaxation, hesitation with commitment, and inconsistency with reliable, repeatable performance.
Whether your goal is to improve your batting, pitching, fielding, decision-making, or overall confidence, I help you unlock the mental edge that allows you to compete with freedom, consistency, and enjoyment—playing the game at your highest potential.
I help baseball players develop stronger mental routines and greater consistency.
Hypnosis for Football Players | Sports Hypnosis for Confidence & Performance
Football is a sport of constant movement, constant decisions, and constant pressure.
There is no time to stop and analyse. The game moves quickly, and the best players have the ability to see opportunities, trust their instincts, and act decisively before others have even recognised what is happening.
That level of performance doesn't come from physical ability alone. It comes from having a mind that remains calm, focused, and confident when the pressure increases.
When I work with football players, my focus is helping them develop the mental qualities that allow their natural ability to come through consistently. You have already spent years developing your technical skills, fitness, and understanding of the game. My role is to help remove the mental barriers that can prevent you from accessing those abilities when they matter most.
A player can train the perfect finish hundreds of times, but confidence can disappear after a missed chance. A defender can know exactly what to do, but hesitation after a mistake can affect the next decision. A midfielder can have excellent vision, but pressure and overthinking can slow their reactions.
These are the moments where the mental side of football becomes the difference.
Through hypnosis and subconscious conditioning, I help players build stronger confidence, sharper focus, and greater emotional control. I help you learn how to let go of mistakes quickly, stay composed during difficult moments, and approach each situation with belief rather than doubt.
The physical demands of football are enormous. Players need explosive speed, agility, strength, stamina, coordination, balance, and the ability to maintain technical skill while fatigued. They must repeatedly accelerate, change direction, compete physically, and perform precise movements under unpredictable conditions.
But the demands on the mind are just as significant.
Football requires awareness, creativity, decision-making, communication, resilience, and the confidence to take responsibility. Whether it is taking a penalty, receiving the ball under pressure, making a challenging pass, or stepping up during an important match, the player who can stay mentally composed has a significant advantage.
My work is about helping you become the player you know you can be—the player who trusts their ability, embraces pressure, and plays with freedom rather than fear.
Whether you are an aspiring professional, academy player, competitive amateur, or someone wanting to improve confidence and consistency, I help you develop the mindset that allows your training, talent, and instincts to work together.
Because football is not only about what you can do.
It is about believing you can do it when the moment arrives.
"I have coached championship rugby teams, competed in the Ironman World Championship, worked with Olympic-level athletes, supported elite gymnasts, and understand the psychology of performance from the inside."
Every sport has its own unique physical demands, but the mental challenges athletes face are often remarkably similar: building confidence, maintaining focus, managing pressure, developing consistency, and performing at their best when it matters most.
I combine advanced clinical hypnosis with my own experience in competitive sport to help athletes strengthen the mindset required for peak performance. Whether they are overcoming mental barriers, preparing for competition, or looking to unlock their full potential, I help athletes develop the confidence, resilience, and mental skills needed to perform under pressure.
